"...you need to look at it every hour of every day in the same place so that you can understand its way..."

"Tres Pistoles Sunrise"
Acrylic on Canvas, 2012

18" x 24"

“Blue Jays were my vocal companions every day that I came here to paint”.

106 acres of open space, also known as Three Gun (after the spring at the head of the canyon to the north), were purchased to protect access to the Sandia Mountain Wilderness and the Sandia Hawk Watch site. The site is Tres Pistolas, or, in most official documents, "Tres Pistoles," in improper Spanish.
